I’ve worked as a marketeer a couple of years. Co-written a couple of books and articles on (internal)marketing. And I’ve done the ‘be your own boss’ thing. I’ve learned that marketing is actually very easy. Just be yourself and be honest. Only problem is that the rest of the company might not be. So then you have to lie and pretend. Lie about your product, pretend that you’re cool or that you mean well. That sucks. So I quit marketing and started doing stuff I actually like; started CultBlender, studing art and becoming an artist.
Sometimes I still meet with marketeers and account managers, so I’ve noticed nothing’s changed really. Things I notice, I’ll post here. Perhaps it’s of use to you. Should you require even more information. Please visit my website.
